How much does chassis welding cost in Ireland?

There is no single price for chassis welding, because two vehicles with the same fail sheet can need very different amounts of work. What we can do is explain exactly what moves the number.

What drives the cost

• How much steel is rotten — a single patch is a different job to four outriggers
• Access — some repairs need the tank, exhaust or suspension components dropped
• Steel gauge and fabrication — plate patches versus sections that have to be formed
• Whether the repair needs seam sealing, priming and coating afterwards
• Whether the vehicle needs an NCT re-test standard finish

Why nobody can quote it blind

Rust spreads under coatings. Until the underside is cleaned back on a ramp, the visible hole is only part of the story. We will give you an honest range from photos, then confirm it once the vehicle is up.

Worth doing at all?

On a structurally sound vehicle, welding and then undersealing is nearly always cheaper than replacing the vehicle. Where a chassis is thin along its whole length, we will tell you it is not worth it.
