Undersealing Ireland
Irish salt and damp eat underbody steel from the inside out. We strip the underside back, treat the corrosion, weld what needs welding, then seal the chassis, floor pan and box sections properly — cars, 4x4s, vans, campers and commercials.
Our undersealing process
The prep is what makes a coating last. Anyone can spray black over a dirty chassis — that traps moisture and makes things worse. Here's what actually happens to your vehicle.
- Full underbody degrease and high-pressure wash
- Dried out and inspected on the ramp with you
- Surface rust treated back to sound metal
- Any holed or weak steel cut out and welded
- Chassis rails, sills and floor pan sealed
- Cavity wax injected into enclosed box sections
- Brake lines, fuel lines and moving parts masked
- Photos of the finished underside before collection

Undersealing questions
What is undersealing?
Undersealing is cleaning the underside of a vehicle back, treating any corrosion, then coating the chassis, floor pan and box sections with a protective sealant so salt and water can't reach the steel.
How much does undersealing cost in Ireland?
Most cars sit around the lower end, with 4x4s, vans and commercials costing more because there's far more surface area and box section to cover. Full pricing is on our undersealing cost page, and we quote from WhatsApp photos before you travel.
How long does undersealing last?
A properly prepared and coated underside lasts years, not months. The prep is what decides it — coating over dirt or live rust will always fail early, which is why we degrease, wash, dry and treat before anything is sprayed.
Is undersealing worth it in Ireland?
Irish roads are salted through winter and coastal air is damp year round, so underbody steel corrodes faster here than in drier climates. Sealing a sound chassis is far cheaper than welding a rotten one later.
Can you underseal a vehicle that already has rust?
Yes — surface rust is treated and sealed. Where metal is holed or structurally weak, it is cut out and welded first, then coated. We never spray over rot.
Do you do undersealing near me?
We take vehicles from all 32 counties into the yard in Wexford, and customers regularly travel from Dublin, Cork, Galway and the midlands for a day's work.
