- Free chassis inspection, or send WhatsApp photos and get an honest assessment before you travel.
Chassis welding in Wexford
Wexford is hard on steel. Salt air off the coast at Rosslare, Kilmuckridge and Courtown gets into box sections and works from the inside out, while salted main roads through Enniscorthy, Gorey and New Ross finish the job over winter. By the time rust shows on the outside of a chassis rail, the metal behind it is usually already thin.
Because we are based in County Wexford, most local jobs start with a free look on the ramp. We probe the suspect areas, show you what is sound and what has to come out, and give you a straight answer on whether the vehicle is worth welding before anything is cut.

How a Wexford job runs
Inspection first, then a written quote. Corroded steel is cut back to sound metal, replacement sections are formed in matching gauge and welded in with full-penetration MIG welds — no plating over rust and no filler hiding a structural problem. Joins are dressed back, seam-sealed, primed, painted and then coated with underbody protection so the repair outlasts the original metal.
Wexford towns we cover

Chassis welding Wexford FAQs
Where in Wexford are you based?
Rayco are based in County Wexford, so chassis welding for Wexford Town, Gorey, Enniscorthy, New Ross, Rosslare and the surrounding villages is local work for us — most customers are with us the same week they call.
Do you weld chassis that have failed the NCT in Wexford?
Yes. Bring the NCT failure sheet with you. Corroded rails, sills, outriggers, jacking points and floor sections are cut out, replaced in correct-gauge steel and welded to test standard, then treated and sealed.
How much does chassis welding cost in Wexford?
Every chassis is different, so the job is quoted after a free inspection or from WhatsApp photos. What drives the price is how much rusted steel has to come out and whether load-bearing sections such as outriggers or crossmembers are involved.
Why do Wexford vehicles rot so badly?
Coastal salt air along the Wexford and Rosslare shoreline, plus heavily salted main roads inland, attack box sections from the inside. Vehicles that spend time near the coast or on farm tracks usually show chassis corrosion years earlier than inland cars.
Do you underseal after the welding is done?
Always. Fresh weld metal is bare steel and will rust quickly if left exposed. Every welded section is dressed back, seam-sealed, primed, painted and coated with premium underbody protection before the vehicle leaves the yard.
How long will my vehicle be with you?
Most Wexford chassis welding jobs are one to three days. Larger 4x4 work with multiple outriggers or crossmembers can run to a week. You get a clear timeline before the vehicle is booked in.
