Van Chassis Welding Ireland

Vans carry weight, live outdoors and cover big mileage. We weld out corroded sills, floors and rails and get them back on the road sealed.

In short

  • Van corrosion typically hits sills, floor pans, rear arch areas, rails and suspension mounting points.
  • Constant load and high mileage mean corroded structure is a real safety issue on a working van.
  • Repairs are welded in correct-gauge steel, sealed, painted and coated.
  • WhatsApp photos to 087 919 2193 for a price.

Where vans corrode

Panel vans rot in the sills, at the bottom of the side and rear door apertures, in the floor around the load area, and around suspension and leaf spring mounting points. On chassis-cab conversions the frame rails and body mounts are the areas to watch.

Ply lining hides a lot. Water gets under it from spills and wet loads, sits on the floor pan and rots it from above while the underside still looks fine.

What we weld on vans

  • Sills and door aperture bottoms
  • Load area floor pans and crossmembers
  • Rear arches and inner arch structure
  • Chassis rails on chassis-cab conversions
  • Leaf spring hangers and suspension mounts
  • Tow bar mounting areas

Downtime matters

A van off the road costs more than the repair. We assess and quote quickly, tell you honestly how long the work takes, and where possible schedule the job so the van is back working fast.

What the job involves

Every repair, step by step

  • Ramp inspection with photos of every corroded area
  • Corroded steel cut back to clean, solid metal
  • Repair sections fabricated in correct-gauge steel
  • MIG welded for full penetration and dressed back
  • Seams sealed so water cannot enter the joint
  • Primed and painted before coating
  • Underbody protection applied over the repair
  • Photos of the finished work before collection

Frequently asked questions

Can van sills and floors be welded?

Yes — corroded sections are cut out and new steel welded in, then sealed, painted and coated.

Do you work on chassis-cab and Luton conversions?

Yes, including frame rails, body mounts and load-bay steel.

Which vans do you see most?

Transit, Transit Custom, Sprinter, Crafter, Ducato, Transporter and Iveco Daily are all common.

Should the load lining come out?

For floor repairs, yes — we'll tell you what needs to be removed before you book in.

How fast can you turn a van around?

It depends on the extent of the corrosion. We give a realistic timeline once we've seen it.
